Underlying Concept : SSH server on linux box used for remote access from windows.
Steps:
1. start ssh service on Linux on virtual box:
sudo /etc/init.d/ssh start
2. Configure port fowarding on the virtual box router/ network settings to redirect requests on a particular port to your linux box.
Example:
requests on 5050 or xxxx port on windows would be forwarded to port 22(ssh) on linux client.

Open the client and ssh to 127.0.0.1 on port 5050.
We are done!
Now you can transfer files from Linux to Windows and also vice-versa :)
Hope you find it useful.
